care. the investigation started in early 2014, nearly two years ago, after the child died. tucker lived in ottumwa when the murder happened but was arrested in utah and will be extradited back to iowa. amanda: there was two- vehicle fatal crash this morning in boone county. a semi was heading eastbound on highway 30 when a 2001 aztek passenger vehicle crossed the intersection heading southbound, pulling out in front of the semi. the 79 year old ogden resident thomas keith myers was then both drivers transported to boone county mercy hospital. pronounced dead. the accident is still under investigation. amanda: some folks from a clarke county nursing home have had their belongings temporarily taken away to help combat a potential issue. one resident called local five, telling us his concern about staying in his room, thinking there was some kind of bug or microbe. staff members tell us that it was in fact a skin condition. now, they've taken clothes

until monday, to make sure that the microbes die off. "jason bridie, southern hills spokesman: "we addressed this early on with medical attention and even medical providers weren't sure what we were dealing with initially." amanda: the dermatologists are still evaluating what the skin issue is. they've taken precautions that could be consistent with any of three possible choices. amanda: saturday is national wreaths across america day, and central iowa will take part in the event which will honor veterans this holiday season. tomorrow morning starting at eleven, volunteers will place ceremonial wreaths on memorials at the iowa veterans cemetary to remember all who have served from the hawkeye state. more than two- thousand wreaths will also been placed on individual grave sites. the event is coordinated to happen simultaneously with the more than one- thousand similar events happen nationawide. amanda if you're looking for a way to help others this holiday season -- local 5 has you covered! our can hunger

morning, as thursday brought a big endorsement for a republican presidential candidate, while a competitor decided to adjust his travel plans. amanda: capitol thursday conservative publicly cruz. the group's leader bob vander plaats stated that the cruz endorsement does not come from family leader as an organization, but rather its individuals. they join other big iowa names such as congressman steve king and former secretary of state matt schultz in backing cruz. amanda: meanwhile, as he tries to fight the backlash of his plan to ban all muslims from entering the u-s, donald trump has decided to cancel an upcoming trip to the middle east. the candidate was to meet with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu. despite the change, trump says many of his supports like his plan and has no intentions on

he'll be in iowa tonight, holding a rally at the state fairgrounds in des moines...local five will also be on hand covering the event. amanda: new this morning, a busy weekend for the governors office, as they get ready to celebrate.. amanda: monday will mark an historic moment for governor terry brandstad...as he becomes the longest-serving governor in american history... preparations are underway the celebration, as december 14th will mark his seven thousand 640th day of service to the state of iowa. the event has even been recognized in washington, senator chuck grassley recognized the governor's milestone on the senate floor.
